Summary: The Frontend Developer role focuses on building GDS compliant services with a strong emphasis on accessibility standards. The position requires experience with NextJS and Kubernetes in AWS, along with familiarity in Python and Java/SpringBoot. The developer will engage in all phases of the development lifecycle, ensuring high-quality software delivery through collaboration and adherence to best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle, including daily stand-ups, estimation, sprint planning, and backlog grooming.
  • Develop clean, maintainable and efficient software with high levels of unit testing and automated integration (browser based) testing.
  • Contributing to peer code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with the UCD design team, Business Analysts, Performance Analysts and development and Quality Assurance colleagues to understand and deliver assigned tasks.
  • Adhere to technical development standards and best practices.
  • Ask for help when needed and collaborate with team members to resolve issues impacting delivery within your team.

Rate: £450 (Outside IR35) Duration: 6+ Months Start Date: ASAP Location: Remote Must Have Active SC Prior experience of building GDS compliant services including accessibility to WCAG 2.2 AA standards is sought. Our technology stack includes NextJS running on Kubernetes in AWS so relevant experience in that is of benefit. Other areas of the programme use Python and Java/SpringBoot so fluency or familiarity with either of these would be of additional benefit.
